Know this Myopic!


Jaydip Dutta Gupta (aka JD) is a maverick, who writes for the sheer pleasure of expressing his thoughts on issues that are closer to his heart. He delves into complicated and not so complicated topics covering social structures, politics, education, human relationships and social psychology. Some of his works are in the form of short stories and one-act plays, while the rest are analysis driven commentaries/essays.

Jaydip holds a PG degree in Management, a graduate degree in Science and a profound interest in Psychology. He was engaged with a fast growing consulting conglomerate, Planman Consulting Group for over 7 years in their brand-cum-image advisory arm, Indian Centre for Public Affairs and Relations (ICPAR) as the Vice President, Client Servicing. He later joined The Indian Institute of Planning and Management (IIPM) to head their academic operations in Delhi. He soon moved on to head their all India academic operations, leading a team of centre Deans across 18 nodes located out of almost all the state capitals. He has also been the founder editor of Planman Group’s media arm, The Sunday Indian, heading the Bengali language edition for over 4 years and has headed IIPM’s Award Committee as its Secretary for 5 years. Under his stewardship, IIPM instituted the Rs. 7Cr Rabindranath Tagore International Prize in Literature, awarding veteran novelist Ramapada Chowdhury. He has also conceptualized various other award functions, TV productions and events for the IIPM-Planman groups during his 13 years of association with them.

He currently stays in Kolkata, consults start up businesses in education sector in operational process management and writes his heart out. He is also a corporate communication consultant and conducts training workshops for students and corporate executives in the areas related to internal and stakeholder communication. He in addition spends a lot of time counseling and mentoring youngsters for career opportunities, social relationships and various life issues, under his counseling brand – Wings2Life.
